In the echo October 13, referring to the new signs Councillor Graham Longley seemed to be pleased. I am shocked at his reaction, as he like every other councillor’s in the town supported both these shared space schemes. Despite the fact I warned Councillor Longley 2 years ago that shared space schemes were no go areas for blind and partially sighted people, but he chose as well as all the other Councillors to ignore me. Do they really care about disabled people in this town? They forgot to build the disabled toilets at City beach, they have not built any toilets at Victoria Gateway and what about the cycle tracks, they end up on the pavement as well. Before wasting any more money just take a read of the United Nations Convention on Disability and learn about your responsibilities as a Councillor. Jill Allen-King O.B.E.
